MAREYA, a Maori pop/alt powerhouse from New Zealand brings her A game to the global music industry as a prolific producer, songwriter, vocalist and guitarist. With vulnerable lyrics, a vocal that hits the sweet spot and melodies that transcend, Mareya’s music unapologetically speaks her truth and reflects the multifaceted nature of her artistic personality.

Mareya's story is one of relentless pursuit and passion. Having personal experiences to draw from, Mareya is fueled by her advocacy for mental health, BIPOC rights and the dismantling of misogyny. Originally she cut her teeth on the iconic Stevie Nicks, Kurt Kobain, Jeff Buckley and Green Day. Kobain’s music inspired and taught her how to write powerful hooks! In her later years Mareya started to gain inspiration from the iconic Marina, Melanie Martinez & Lady Gaga. She weaves these themes into her music, aspiring to foster a safer, more inclusive world. 

For the last 10 years Mareya has been residing in Naarm (Melbourne, AU) where she has been developing her artistry. Originating from the rock scene, Mareya now merges her rock experience into pop as she delivers a fierce sound design that puts her into her own lane. Some of Mareyas career highlights include, touring with Morning Maxwell, supporting him on stage at the Corner Hotel and at the Keep It Together Festival alongside Australian pop icons, The Veronicas. On stage, Mareya's mesmerizing presence leaves a lasting impression on her audience. Her music has been featured on various international radio stations, and she was a grand finalist in the Listen Up Songwriting Competition. 

Mareya recently signed with Tomboi Records. A label that speaks to Mareyas values being the the first record label in the world created to safeguard the rights of women, people of color, and LGBTQIAplus communities, marking a pivotal moment in her career.

MareyA is currently recording an EP which is set to highlight themes around mental health and the struggles of being a woman in today's society. Before this EP comes her first track to be released through Tomboi Records & The Orchard is called NEED YOU NOW.
